Innocent Till Proven Guilty.
The burden of proof is thus on the prosecution, which has to
convince the court that the accused is guilty beyond a reasonable
doubt. These animals have no
voice, so we need to be theirs. Their freedom is striped and cages are
all they know. They spend their whole lives in these cages and pens
around the country. Calves have it real hard, they can't even move so
society can eat veal. I have not eaten veal in 14 years. These animals
DO
deserve better.

1000 PIGS DEAD BY STARVATION - DEMAND CRIMINAL CHARGES
On 11/7/10 from 950 to 1,000 dead and rotting pigs were
discovered at a factory-farm style confinement barn in Union Township,
Fulton County, PA. Farm owners Daniel and Kerron Clark, who are
divorcing, apparently deserted them months ago. The animals struggled to
escape the building, but all succumbed to starvation. Several were
found dead just outside the structure.
Daniel Clark was the last
to leave the farm, sometime in August. Humane investigator Dennis
Bumbaugh believes the pigs died βin the last several months,β based on
decomposition levels. Rotting remains of six calves were also found.
Bumbaugh says Daniel Clark will likely be charged, pending more
investigation. Realtor Rebecca A. Glesner, who is showing the farm to
prospective buyers, is not worried that 1,000 dead hogs will hinder its
salability. βI think this is very normal in a lot of farming operations,
that you're going to have dead animals.β

1000 Starved Pigs: Please Prosecute Daniel and Kerron Clark to the maximum extent possible

This coward Frank Perretta faces charges in connection with the investigation into Bushway Veal Meat Packing in Grand Isle Vermont, where he allegedly handled animals inhumanely.

Grand Isle, Vermont - August 12, 2010
A man wanted for an animal cruelty case in Vermont is expected to answer to charges Thursday. Frank Perretta faces charges in connection with the investigation into Bushway Meat Packing in Grand Isle, where he allegedly handled animals inhumanely. Prosecutors wanted to file charges months ago but could not find him until his arrest in northern New York last week. Perretta avoided an additional fugitive from justice charge there by coming back to Vermont voluntarily. The images are hard to forget: Day-old calves being kicked, beaten, and electrically shocked as they struggle in vain to stand; workers angrily cursing as the tormented animals collapse to the ground. http://www.humanesociety.org/news/news/2010/02/bushway_veal_020110.html
Vt. slaughterhouse set to reopen: I sure hope we keep a better eye on these owners. Terry Rooney and John McCracken are staying on and renaming the business Champlain Valley Meat Packing. They've agreed to improve pens, the loading area and water supply to calves. They will also increase employee training and face regular audits by an independent consultant.
