The American Anti-Vivisection Society
I don't want your money, just your attention.

Are you rich? Me neither. However, both of us wish we could give more to help the animals. While the economy is still shaky, here are a few ways you can support AAVS without opening that checkbook:

GoodSearch / GoodShop

Goodsearch & Goodshop
Powered by Yahoo!, GoodSearch collects advertiser-derived revenue from internet searches, enabling users to generate donations for AAVS by entering search terms as usual. Goodshop is a portal to all your favorite online retailers, which have agreed to donate a percentage of sales to benefit AAVS, with no additional cost to shoppers. I have the GoodToolbar installed on my web browser—it automatically identifies participating sites and shows the percentage of donations from your purchase!

Pure Citizen

Pure Citizen
Pure Citizen is a 'flash sale' site offering generous discounts of 30-90% off products from companies committed to making the world a better place. In addition to supporting companies with a conscience, purchasers have the option to save a little less and donate the difference to a featured non-profit. For the remainder of August, Pure Citizen is promoting the Leaping Bunny Program as a preferred cause for shoppers to support.

Ebay Giving Works

eBAY GIVING WORKS
You can support AAVS by selling and shopping on eBay. Through eBay Giving Works, sellers may designate a percentage of their listing's final sale price—between 10% and 100%—to benefit AAVS. Likewise, buyers can search out items that will generate donations for AAVS. Visit our eBay Giving Works Page for more information and to view current items for sale.

V-DAC Car Donation

V-DAC Car Donation
How about donating an old Honda for Humane Science Education? Or a Saturn for the Sanctuary Fund? Through AAVS's partnership with V-DAC, you can donate any type of vehicle— car, truck, motorcycle, RV, boat, airplane, heavy equipment—from anywhere in the US, whether running or not. That clunker in the driveway can help the animals and also provide a tax benefit for you!

Combined Federal Campaign

Combined Federal Campaign
The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is the world's largest, annual workplace charity campaign, raising millions of dollars from civilian, postal, and military donors for hundreds of charitable causes. We greatly appreciates the generous support of Federal employees across the country and internationally, so please remember AAVS (CFC ID 10965) when completing your pledge forms for the 2011 Campaign!

Lowes helps many communities and a prime example is donating  to Animal shelters in need.

MISSION STATEMENT:
Founded in 1957, the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation (LCEF) has a long and proud history of contributing to grassroots community projects. LCEF awards millions annually to diverse organizations across the United States.
Primary philanthropic focus areas are:

    * Community improvement projects
    * Public Education, priority is given to K-12 public schools

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF A COMMUNITY GRANT:
The Foundation provides funding only to 501(c) (3) tax-exempt nonprofit organizations and public agencies in communities where Lowe’s operates stores and distribution centers.
Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation requires that all applicants take an eligibility test. Organizations that pass will be considered, but not guaranteed a grant. LCEF receives far more requests than it can accommodate. Many times, requests that pass the eligibility test and fall within the stated guidelines are not approved.

    * Grants generally range from $5,000 to $25,000.
    * The Foundation will reserve the right to consider an organization's grant application only once per calendar year.
Thank you for your interest in Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation(LCEF).
Our philosophy for giving holds that the communities we serve should be the primary beneficiaries of our charitable contributions.
We recommend that your local Lowe’s store be your first point of inquiry when seeking a modest gift card, door prize or donation of materials for a community project or event. LCEF grants typically range from $5,000 to $25,000. If you are requesting an educational scholarship, you need to access Lowes.com/scholarships.
You must first take the Eligibility Test to confirm that your needs match with LCEF guidelines.

Search Engine That Donates Funds To Animal Cruelty...

We all have a cause we care about - whether it's finding a cure for cancer, saving the environment, finding homes for abandoned pets or so many other worthwhile endeavors. But what we don't all have is the time or money to support these efforts as much as we'd like. So, what if we could raise money for our favorite charities and schools by doing something we do every day — searching the Internet? That's the question Ken Ramberg (the former founder of JOBTRAK, now a division of Monster.com) and JJ Ramberg (an MSNBC anchor and the former Director of Marketing at Cooking.com) asked themselves a few years ago. After realizing what a fraction of the $8 billion generated annually by search engine advertisers could do if it were directed towards organizations trying to make the world a better place, they launched GoodSearch in 2005. GoodSearch is a search engine which donates 50-percent of its revenue to the charities and schools designated by its users. It's a simple and compelling concept. You use GoodSearch exactly as you would any other search engine. Because it's powered by Yahoo!, you get proven search results. The money GoodSearch donates to your cause comes from its advertisers — the users and the organizations do not spend a dime!

Spread the word!

Our goal is to help as many nonprofits and schools as possible. We want to help fund the great works they are doing. And, as important as the money, GoodSearch allows people to feel connected to organizations helping to make the world a better place and support them every single day. We believe that "doing good" should be a part of people's everyday lives. Because we donate such a substantial part of our revenue to the organizations that you designate, we're not spending a lot on advertising. That's why we need your help in spreading the word! We hope you'll not only use GoodSearch as your main search engine from now on, but will also tell your friends, family and co-workers so they, too, can start using GoodSearch to support their favorite cause! So ...

  • Find a cure
  • Support your school
  • Provide disaster relief
  • Protect our environment

iGive Search Engine Is Free And Raises Money For Your Favorite Cause...

How it Works

Raise money for your favorite cause, every time you search the web! iSearchiGive.com is a search engine powered by Yahoo! Search and iGive.com, the internet's first online shopping mall where a portion of each purchase is donated to your favorite cause. We're bringing you the best, easiest way to raise money when you search the web. No hidden fees. No vague percentages. No limits. And, donation checks are sent promptly, every month. When you use iSearchiGive to search the web, your favorite cause receives exactly $0.01 per qualified search. The money comes from advertisers, so it costs you nothing, and it's completely free for you and the cause you support. Donation checks are mailed every month. We sent over 2,000 checks to causes big and small during just the month of March, 2008.  With iSearchiGive, there's no need to wait a year for your cause to get its donations! Every month, we calculate the funds due your cause based upon fund raising activities that happened approximately 75 days ago. That allows enough time for advertisers to pay us, so that we can pay your cause. The minimum for check issuance is $25 - if your cause has not reached the $25 minimum, their funds will roll over to the following month. After all, who wants a check for 73¢? Search to your heart's content. If you shop, you can help even more. iSearchiGive is brought to you by the pioneers in online shopping and charitable giving: iGive.com. We've sent over $3,000,000 to causes since 1997. Our mission is to change online shopping (and searching!) for good. If you shop online, consider doing it through iGive.com where up to 26% of each purchase at over 680 participating online stores is donated to your favorite cause. Create your free iGive.com membership today. It's free for you, and free for your cause. No mysteries. No uncertainy. And you can track your individual contributions!

Support Animal Shelters . . . by Shopping Online

You can help homeless pets by shopping on a brand new, non-profit animal charity site called BringPetsHome.org. The new online community for pet lovers is a great place to share pet news, stories, and advice with friends. And, best of all, visitor participation helps raise money for animal shelters nationwide that are struggling to care for unwanted pets. You can shop ’til you drop in support of animal shelters, then get together with friends to share stories, advice and even pictures all on the newly launched BringPetsHome.org. The fundraising web site also offers exclusive content for cat and dog owners which includes information on pet care and safety, information on animal shelters, as well blogs, groups and open forums.

The site’s primary purpose is to raise money to help shelters care for homeless pets. It serves as an online portal where visitors can access more than 150 major online retailers, like Amazon, Sephora, Wal-Mart, iTunes, and many more. To raise money, online shoppers register at www.bringpetshome.org to select a shelter to support, then click-through to the merchant of choice. Each retailer specifies a percent commission on the web site and donates that percentage of the purchase to Bring Pets Home. There is no additional cost to the consumer.

Every year, six to eight million animals enter U. S. shelters. According to the ASPCA, as many as one million additional dogs and cats are in danger of losing their homes in 2009, at a time when fewer donations are coming in. All need food, shelter, and medical care, so that they have the chance to be reunited with their original owners or adopted into caring, permanent homes.

“Bring Pets Home is a great way for pet lovers to raise money to help homeless animals without ever leaving home—and at no cost to them,” says Linda Block, Marketing Director for HomeAgain Pet Recovery Service and Bring Pets Home. “More pets are entering shelters, but donors’ purse strings have tightened. Anyone can help by simply remembering to visit http://www.bringpetshome.org to click-through to a favorite online merchant whenever shopping online.”

Pawzu From The "Facebook" People..

Join Facebook to connect with your friends and use the (Pawzu) You JOIN and We DONATE to Animal Rights(all fields are required to sign up). application. Fill out the form below to get started

About Facebook

Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them. People use Facebook to keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, share links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet. What's up the Pawzu? Pawzu is the pioneer animal rights application. Starting 1/23, we began our donation program as part of our commitment to directly helping Endangered Species and Homeless Animals in the real world and making a difference in a practical way as promised.

Is This Real? Each month, we'll post where donations went on this thread.

The Thousands Donation Initiative

Every day the number of daily active users is at least 1,000, we will donate $1 PER DAY to worthy organizations like World Wildlife Fund, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Animal Rescue Foundation, etc. Every day it's at least 10,000, we donate $10 per day. 100,000 milestone = $100 a day. 1,000,000 = $1,000 a day and so on, get it? So with at least 1,000,000 daily active users over a month, that means at least $30,000 would be donated per month! NOTE: Visiting this page does not count you as an "active user", you must go to the actual application. Of course, in order for this to be successful, we need YOUR help getting new users on Pawzu! For best results, invite 20 people first, then bear hug 40. Even more effective is sending non-Pawzu people personal messages with the link http://apps.facebook.com/pawzuapp/ .

Where Will We Get The Money To Donate?

While user clicks on ads help, it's not always enough. So Pawzu recently teamed with an exciting new company which offers a product line of cute "Bubble Bunnys" plush toys as well as greeting cards and other products. Pre-order your huggable Bubble Bunny today and a part of profit from sales will go towards Pawzu and our Thousands Donation Initianan.

Fund raising Ideas, Where to Find Grants, How to Increase Adoptions, and More

Homeless pets face a desperate situation. This site will be updated frequently with new ideas and tips for animal shelters and rescues and anyone who wants to help our animal friends. Use the table of contents on the left to find articles on fund raising, finding grants, setting up a pet food bank, involving kids, and more. And, visit our blog. Recent blog posts include:

Finding Grants for Animal Shelters and Rescues

How to Find Individual Donors for Your Pet Food Bank

Following are ideas for getting the word out about your pet food bank. Your goal is to maximize the number of donors. Make a plan on how to best do this in your community.

Educate the public about the pet food crisis. Let animal lovers know that your pet food bank is meeting that need. Try to get free publicity from animal loving organizations who can direct potential donors to your fundraising efforts. Many animal lovers want to help.
You also need to let those who need pet food know about your pet food service.

Any individual, group or animal shelter can start a pet food bank. Please refer to Starting a Pet Food Bank which describes organization and distribution considerations. For ways to find ongoing financial support, visit Finding Ongoing Donors for Your Pet Food Bank.

Brainstorm for publicity

You need many people to donate to keep your pet food bank going. Some will donate only once a year. Try networking with your pet food bank team, animal shelter board of directors, animal protection groups, and all your animal loving friends. Churches, libraries, schools, etc., have bulletin boards, newsletters, etc. Just as you call and network with all your contacts when you search for a new job, do the same to get the word out about your pet food bank. While you’re doing this, you may find ongoing sponsors who can provide a financial cushion you can always count on.

Search For Cruelty Free Products...

Welcome, shoppers! Thank you for being a caring consumer! By purchasing only cruelty-free products, you can help save rabbits, mice, guinea pigs, rats, and other animals.

Hundreds of thousands of these animals are poisoned, blinded, and killed every year in outdated and ineffective product tests for shampoos, household cleaners, cosmetics, hairsprays, and other personal care and household items. Although more than 600 companies have banned all animal tests forever, some corporations still force substances into animals' stomachs and drip chemicals into rabbits' eyes. These tests are not required by law, and they often produce inaccurate and misleading results—even if a product has blinded an animal, it can still be marketed to you. Search for cruelty-free products and companies.

Everywun... Helping Company's Lend A Hand...

Everyone can make a better world with Everywun!
• You can put badges on the Internet which raise funds each time they’re clicked.
• Businesses can sponsor badges, showing us – their customers and community – that they care.
• Nonprofits can use funds raised to take action on behalf of their mission. Before Everywun, people and businesses could only support good causes by giving their time (volunteering) or money (donations). Yet many people wanted to support good causes, but didn’t have time or money to do so. And many businesses wanted to do the same, but it wasn’t good for their bottom line. Everywun enables people and businesses to partner with each other to make giving easy for people, profitable for businesses, and provide funds and awareness for nonprofit organizations. We do this by changing the way giving is done – we enable people to put an Everywun badge on their web pages, blogs, and online profiles. Each time an Everywun badge is clicked, funds are donated by a participating business sponsor featured on the badge. Right now you can get your own Everywun badge by clicking on any of the Funds links on Everywun.com. We launched on September 15th, and the community response since then has been phenomenal!

Art For The Animals is a unique giving program that combines wildlife Donations and original folk art into extraordinary holiday gifts.

Your contribution to a participating conservation organization through Art For The Animals does much more than donations usually do.

* It provides funds for conservation and research, education and training, protecting the lands, supporting endangered species, and working with the community.
* It provides income to artisans, supporting a community supporting itself and giving its people the incentive to preserve the environment that helps them flourish.
* It creates original art for you or your gift recipient to enjoy on any occasion.

There are a variety of donation packages to choose from, each representing a threatened or endangered species. So mouse over your favorite conservation and research organization on the left, click on your favorite animal, learn about the conservation programs you can support, and see the folk art you'll receive as our thanks for your donation.

Art For The Animals is a different and truly meaningful way to give.
Here’s how your gift donation will make a difference in many lives.

Your Donation will touch the lives of endangered animals, indigenous artists, special places and the hearts of those on your gift list, and it is so easy to do.

1. You decide to make a donation to benefit your favorite animal or organization.
2. We send you a gift card, like the one shown here.
3. We also send a unique handcrafted piece of art made by local artisans who share the land and its resources with these animals.
When you make donations in the names of those on your gift list, they receive the card and the folk art, and a chance to discover a simpler, more meaningful way to celebrate the season.
